Black white life gain deck!

Are you guys ready for the most insane deck ever? …Are you? Well then here is my version of a black white life gain deck and it is simply stupid! LOL

To start, the idea of this deck (other than your friends hating your guts for using it) is to dump as much life, as fast as possible, then gaining double or even triple what you lost, while your opponent loses that much!

I know it sounds a bit confusing, so let’s take a look at one of the stars of the deck so you can see where I am going with this deck.

Vizkopa Guildmage

viz - Black white life gain deck that will make your opponents cringe!

A cornerstone of the deck

  • There are 2 parts we can use for him, but most of the time we will be using the 2nd part of his abilities which reads: 1/w/b: Whenever you gain life this turn, each opponent loses that much life. Interesting right?
  • Basically, we want to gain a bunch of life so our opponent loses a bunch of life at the same time! With this deck that is all we will be doing.
  • There are multiple cards that make you lose life and then gain it right back, sometimes double what you lost and occasionally triple. 🙂
  • Pay the 3 mana and GG! Muwahahahahahaha!!!!!

Ok now that I have your attention, and I am sure you are curious as hell to see the rest of the cards, With no more further ado… THE DECKLIST!

DECK COMBOS

This deck runs on combos, so let’s start with the best one!

Turn 1Children of Korlis. This is a 1/1 creature that costs 1 white mana to cast that reads:  When you sacrifice Children of Korlis: you gain life equal to the life you’ve lost this turn. (Ima thinking lets lose lots of life)

Turn 2Immolating Souleater. This is a 1/1 Artifact creature that costs 2 colorless mana to cast and reads: Immolating Souleater gets +1/+0 until end of turn for every 1 red mana or 2 life you pay. (We don’t care about the red mana so we can just pay 18 life and make him a 10/1 when the time is right… keep reading!)

Turn 3Vizkopa Guildmage. We already went over his abilities in the opening, so here’s a brief review, pay 3 and whenever you gain life this turn, each opponent loses that much life. Oh man, is that beautiful? We can’t quite use the combo yet so let’s get to turn 4 and see how the beauty of this deck works!

Turn 4– Play a Scoured Barrens as a land, (unfortunately, it comes in tapped) because in this deck we really sorta want to gain life 😉 After dropping your Scoured Barrens for mana and gaining 1 life, drop a Wall of Blood. If the board is open and you can attack refer to turn 5. If the board is not open, wait for next turn. All the fun is coming!

Turn 5– Jump right in there and get the combo started. 1st pay 1 white mana, 1 black mana, and 1 colorless mana for your Vizkopa Guildmage ability. 2nd pay 20 life and make your Immolating Souleater an 11/1… yea I said pay 20 life! What, we are down to 1 life??? and we lost 20 life??? Hang on, we ain’t finished yet! 2nd sacrifice Children of Korlis (You gain life equal to the life you’ve lost this turn), oops Vizkopa’s ability activated (whenever you gain life this turn EACH opponent loses that much life! GG EVERYONE is dead!! Hahahahaha

Now for your own safety stand up slowly, graciously bow to your opponents and back away from the table!!!

Insanely fun black white life gain deck can cause serious injury! Play at your own risk!

Don’t use this deck if you want to keep your friends!

  • Since you decided to go ahead and use this deck, I guess I can show a few utility cards in this deck!
  • One of my favorite things about this particular black white life gain deck is that you can keep pulling cards out of your graveyard.
  • Once your opponent wises up to the shenanigans that you are up too, they will start bringing out there counterspells. Well, we got ya covered.

Bring back creatures you lost!

Utility cards

In this section of the black white life gain deck, I will be going over several utility cards

The first and foremost of which is Claim//Fame. It costs 1 black mana and will bring back 80% of our creatures from the graveyard! How awesome is that?

  1. Counter or path my Vizkopa Guildmage? BAM! (Drops Claim//Fame) …Guildmage is back!!!
  2. Need to use Children of Korlis more than once this turn? BAM! (Drops Claim//Fame).
  3. Resacrifice Children a 2nd time this turn! Ouch, it’s getting out of control over here 🙂

If you are getting countered all over the place… well we got something for that also. Say your Mage was countered and your Tainted Sigil (artifact) was destroyed, we are going to need to break out Fortuitous Find. For 2 colorless mana and 1 black mana, we can return a creature and an artifact to our hand. Yea it goes to our hand, but we got them back with a 2 for 1 and can play them both next turn! I’ll take it!

The last card I am going to go over is Orzhov Charm. This is a true utility card and can be used for multiple plays in this deck. I went with 3 of them but am still debating if I want to add a 4th. It’s just that good.

  • It can return a creature you control back to your hand (in case of a Path or something similar).
  • How about destroying the target creature and losing life equal to its power. Last time I checked this deck wants to lose life and we get to take down a creature to boot? Ummmm yes, please!
  • Last on its list of things it can do is return creature card with converted mana cost 1 or less. That may not seem like much but one of the most important creatures we have cost 1 mana… and that would be Children of Korlis! Uh huh!! Beautiful card!

This black white life gain deck is one of my favorite decks of all times!

I’m not lying to you either about this deck making people angry. It happened to me at an FNM with my friends! But that’s a story for another day…and yes we are still friends. LOL

Thanks for reading and I will catch you next episode with my version of Wizards!

Hi Lash, Thanks for the compliment. In response to your question, there really isn’t too much involved to this process and it does take some time to do the types of blogs I do, maybe 6 to 10 hours per, just depending on how in-depth I get. I highly recommend a completely free course I used to get started. Ian is an awesome mentor and this course is for absolute newbies up to seasoned veterans. https://stoppingscams.com/FIMP/ Tell them I sent you! GL 🙂
